Chicago is food.

So, do you know how Chicago got it’s name?  The Indian word “Shikako”‘ or “skunk place” is recognized as the origin of the name “Chicago”, this name having reference to some native wild onion. It is well known that our native wild onions or leeks were variously used by the Indians throughout their range.  Every Spring, I run the trail near my home- every year I can smell “shikako”.  Today I pulled a few out- so I could teach my son about the origin of the name of our great city, like my mom had taught me.  He asked if he could have some for lunch, and so we did.  83/365MPI3652016 day 83
