Chicago on day 40.

When I travel, and tell people I’m from Chicago- they always have something to say about the history of the city- especially about the Al Capone era.  It surprises me, because I grew up in Chicago- in the city proper- and I can’t really recall anyone ever referencing Al Capone.  I remember my parents talking a lot about politics- my dad worked for Cook County for many years- and so it was like the air- always present- but never about the gangsters of the 30s, it was more about the “gangsters of the 70s and 80s”- names withheld.  When I saw this on the wall at one of the great (not gourmet, but GREAT) Chicago food “joints”, well, it spoke to me.  He had a point.IMG_3038
